Florida law generally limits the time certain family members can bring a claim to only two years from the date of death. Other limitations may apply too. Medical Malpractice
Medical malpractice generally occurs when a hospital or doctor deviates from the reasonable standard of care in a community. This may range from operating on the wrong part of the body, leaving a sponge in a patient after surgery, leaving a foreign object or scissors in a patient, or failing to diagnose a disease or fracture where the diagnosis would have prevented a permanent injury. As with most cases, Fla medical malpractice limits not only the time to bring a claim, but sets out who is even allowed to bring a claim. 

Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect
Nursing homes have an obligation to provide a safe environment to its patients. Too often nursing homes neglect our loved ones who are not able to care for themselves. Neglect and abuse can be found where patients are dropped while being handled, and where they develop bed sores, pressure sores, and decubitus ulcers. Florida has a very limited time set in which you can bring a legal claim for nursing home negligence.
